Summary

We have resolved a critical compatibility issue affecting users of the Brave browser on the Swif web application. This fix addresses a scenario where users encountered numerous JavaScript errors and were unable to view device details, resulting in a blank screen.


What Was the Issue?

  • Users accessing the Swif web app via the Brave browser reported being unable to view their device details.

  • Upon clicking the "Devices" menu and selecting a device, the page would display a blank screen.

  • The browser console showed over 58 JavaScript errors, including a ReferenceError: useOrgStore is not defined.

  • The issue was specific to Brave and did not occur on Chrome.

  • The problem was traced to a file-importing issue that Brave handled differently than other browsers.


How Was It Fixed?

  • Our engineering team identified a file import problem on the affected page.

  • The import issue was ignored by most browsers but caused a critical failure in Brave.

  • The code was updated to ensure compatibility across all supported browsers, including Brave.
