Install app from mac app store in free version
Hey, how do I install an app like “Horo” from the mac app store when I’m on the free plan? can only see the “Device Management → Applications” tab, which is under the paid version. In the MDM the app store doesn’t allow for downloads. What’s the best way to go about this?
Cheers

Hi there,
On the free plan, the Applications tab (for pushing apps via MDM) is a paid feature, so you won’t be able to directly deploy Horo from the Mac App Store through Swif.ai.
That said, you still have two options:
Manual Install — Simply open the Mac App Store on your device and install Horo directly. Swif.ai will still detect and track the app once it’s installed.
Custom Command — If you’d like to automate installs, you can use our Create and Run Command guide to push a script that downloads and installs the app. This gives you flexibility even on the free plan. We have an AI scripting tool on the command creation to assist you writing such command.
Thanks,
Angelo

Manual install sounds great, but the button is not clickable to download it from the app store after start the MDM with Swif.ai. Is there a setting to disable this?

Hi, are you using a managed iCloud ID? This can be the reason.
